A Saudi Woman on a Journey from Saudi Arabia’s Sahara Deserts all the way to the Polar Deserts of Antarctica, the Southernmost point on Earth

The First Female Participant from Saudi and the MENA region to Embark on a Journey from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Sahara Deserts known for their dichotomous weather, all the way to the Polar Frozen Deserts in Antarctica, the Southernmost most point on Earth.

Selected for the Homeward Bound global leadership program, Abeer will be joining the largest female voyage to Antarctica in 2023. Until then, she will run, cycle, swim, walk and horseback ride the distance of the width of Antarctica (5339km) in a year, braving the cold of Antarctica to raise awareness to champion climate action at home within her community and internationally.

Abeer’s ultimate goal is to serving identifying and conserving living species, enabling preservation and promoting biodiversity of species, values and feelings that are on the brink of going extinct.
