The Journey

From Saudi Sahara Deserts to the Frozen Polar Desert in Antarctica

Through Team HB6- Abeer takes on covering the width of Antarctica 5339+ km by walking, running, cycling, swimming, hiking and horseback riding to be competed before she travels to Antarctica.

In a global bid to tackle climate action, Abeer alongside extraordinary women leaders in sciences and engineering who were being chosen as participants of the 6th cohort of Homeward Bound Program, HB6, and who come from diverse backgrounds across the globe in STEMM, coming from niche and inspiring industries ranging from space explorers to cetacean experts and much more will unite together in this program to promote climate action and environmental sustainability through bi-monthly educational trainings and a field trip to Antarctica.

Abeer will track her virtual journey throughout the year until the actual voyage in 2022, showcasing innovation in sustainability, health and science in different cities in Saudi Arabia and other countries along her route while connecting with others working in these areas to learn more about their efforts to improve our status in climate action, environmental sustainability , health & wellbeing for the coming generations and the future of our people and the planet.
